The room is empty, the crowds have gone home after the concert and I am sitting at the piano doing my best Tom Waits impression, trying to figure out how to make up with my wife after we had a fight. I figured that writing this song would help, but it didn’t. I still don’t think she knows I wrote it even after singing it at the top of my longs in the next room for days. Maybe she did hear me and just didn't care.

We never did have those beers.
