about

This song represents the chaos in my mind. To some it just sounds like noise, but It is actually an orchestration in 12 movements. My bass player did everything he could to keep up with me. This is the kind of music I listened to as a kid to get my mind off of the challenges we faced when i was 25. Pretty much the same challenges that 25 year olds face today.

This track is all about change.

Life is about change. The only constant is change. Since I was very young I have always been on the move. My family split up when I as five and I went on to live with four foster families until I was 13. Then my Dad decided to put me in a house while he went off 5 days at a time and left me unsupervised. I became a latch key kid, seeing my Dad only on Weekends when he came home. I got into music around that time.

Now, you'd think that being 13 and living in a house full of food, with no supervision would be waaay cool. And while it had its advantages, the fact is, I wasn’t allowed to tell people that I lived alone or have any “friends” over for fear that social services would find out and come and remove me. s So I spent a lot of time alone listening to all of my favourite records and watching a shit ton of television. My first album was Eric Carmen's "Boats Against the River". My favourite track was "All By Myself".

This song embodies how I feel about my life. An endless wash of changing directions, highs, lows, beatings at the hands of strangers with no one to talk to and all the other unexpected tests and turns. The only structure you will find in this song are the 10 "movements" in between the beginning and end, which, like life, are pretty straight forward.

You are born, you live a bunch of chaos, and then you die.
